Kimmer

Kimmer has been practicing different styles of yoga off and on for the last 18 years. Eventually she found her way into a  Prana Flow class where  she  immediately fell in love with the beauty, creativity and freedom of the practice. After 30+ years of wear and tear on her body as a gymnast, collegiate swimmer and avid runner her love for physical fitness began to take its toll on her body. Multiple injuries and arthritis made it difficult to remain physically fit. Additionally, life became more complex as she became a mother of 2 boys, worked as a flight attendant and created her own floral business. Now in her  Mid 40’s Kimmer finds Yoga to help fulfill many needs while keeping her grounded through her busy lifestyle. “Yoga can be physically challenging, creative, nurturing and calming all at the same time.” Teaching comes naturally for Kimmer through her ability to connect with others. The daughter of two educators, she was provided with many examples of “Living Yoga” She completed her 200 hour  RYT in Prana Flow with Maria Garre as well as Anjali Restorative Yoga with Shannon Paige Schneider.  She has completed an additional 300 hours of training With Shiva Rae, Maria Garre and Andrew McCauley to achieve   500 hr E-RYT   certification.   In addition to teaching yoga classes she is training the Middletown High School Wrestling team, Girls Lacrosse and Girls Track and Field teams and Monocacy Aquatic Club  Swim Team. Kimmer also teaches workshops and classes to Education majors at Frederick Community college. This Fall she began teaching  Yoga  at The Diener School in Potomac and Equinox health club in Bethesda. She also received her Mat Pilates certification in 2012 from Balance Studio in Bethesda. When not teaching, Kimmer enjoys spending time with her family and nature at their Farm in Middletown.
